Product FAQs

Can I continue to use my “old” drone label?

After the change to the new, Europe-wide system with compulsory registration, the drone badges have also changed. Now it is no longer necessary to include the name and address of the holder on the sticker, only the individual registration number. You will receive this from us after the registration process. This means that you can no longer use your old drone badge, but must obtain a new one. Registration with EASA is not yet possible, the FAQ is based on the "Opinion 01/18" of EASA. If you have further questions that are not answered here, please contact us at: info@drone-registration.eu

How do I label my aerial vehicle?

You must mark your aerial vehicle with a fireproof label / badge. The registration information must appear on the label / badge. These are stored in the registration number generated during the registration process and individually for each pilot. Our all-in package already includes such a sticker - you don't have to worry about anything after entering the data.

Which data do I have to enter during registration?

You can find the data in our registration form. In addition to the personal data, you will also need the insurance number of the insurance policy with which your aircraft is insured. The required data is specified in an EASA AMC (acceptable means of compliance).

For which aerial vehicles do I have to be registered?

Registration is mandatory for unmanned aerial vehicles with a take-off weight of more than 250 grams. This regulation has been established for the start of the new regulations according to the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). However, we reserve the right to make changes in the future.

Do I have to register each drone individually if I own more than one?

No. The registration is valid for each drone operator. I.e. if it does not matter whether you own 1, 2, 5 or 10 drones. You will be registered as a pilot and will receive a registration number. The registration number must then be affixed to the aircraft with a fireproof drone badge.

I made a mistake with the caption. What now?

Please check your order thoroughly to make sure everything is correct, as the badge is manufactured exactly according to your specifications. If you have made a mistake, we have always been able to find a solution. Simply contact us by telephone at +49 34 922 / 605 05 or by e-mail at info@drone-registration.eu

Where do I attach the badge / label?

Please refer to the manufacturer's instructions for attachment.

What do I have to consider when attaching the badges?

Please note our mounting instructions.

Can I use the badges / labels in other countries?

Yes, all you have to do is comply with the legal requirements of the destination country and specify the relevant text when ordering.

What has to be written / engraved on the label / badge?

The badge must bear the name and address of the drone operator. Thus it can be identified in the event of a loss or crash. Tip: You can enter 4 lines for engraving. Thus it is possible to enter a telephone number or e-mail address for the finder to make contact possible.

Are the badges/labels fireproof?

Yes, the plates are made of anodised aluminium and therefore have a melting point of approx. 650°C, so the drone badges can withstand a normal fire.
